Retro Britney
January 30, 2008
Remember when Britney was young, beautiful, and the apple of every man’s crotch? It makes me feel better about her current public spiral into insanity whenever my 10 year old niece pops in the DVD and watches her favorite movie Crossroads. I try my hardest not roll my eyes every single time I am forced to watch this movie when I babysit, but it’s not easy.
The other day I was watching it for the 15th time and I started to smile. Not because this bizarre ABC Afterschool Special style of story line touched me in anyway, I guess it was just nice to see Britney looking so clean, healthy, and normal.
The movie is awful, there isn’t a single good thing to say about it or Britney’s acting ability. The best thing about watching this movie is the sense of hope that maybe one day soon we can get Britney to her sane, cockteasing, lip synching self. It’s understandable not to expect Ms. Spears to rival Meryl Streep for her screen debut, but the bad acting, pointless plot, and dull simple minded dialogue makes you wish harm upon the movie studio executive that greenlighted this disaster.
The movie stars; Britney Spears, Anson Mount (who?) , Zoe Saldana, Taryn Manning, Dan Aykroyd, Justin Long (yes the Mac guy).
