Another reason why video games shouldn’t become movies
February 6, 2008
This film is easily one of the worst conceptualized films of all-time. The thought process behind this mindless gun fest is confusing and jumbled. There are moments in the film when you started thinking, “why am I here?”. Hollywood refuses to accept than when it comes to turning video games and comic books into movies is just a bad idea. Movies like Resident Evil 1, 2, and 3, The Hulk, Spider Man 3, Tank Girl, Silent Hill, Spawn, Doom, Final Fantasy, etc all are shining examples of awful efforts made by the industry to milk us for all they can.
Hitman offers nothing new that your haven’t seen in every badly shot big screen version of a video game. The movie moves so fast that when the next scene arrives, your not sure exactly what your supposed to be feeling. There at least 200,00 rounds of bullets shot in this movie, things are being blown up for the dumbest possible reasons. The lead actor Timothy Olyphant has a disturbingly swishy walk that doesn’t seem to fit the character of the world’s deadliest assassin. I actually paid to see this movie, and it took a huge effort not to walk out and go home early. My two friends I went with were also just as disapointed as I was, because halfway through the movie they were fast asleep. So if you were curious to check out this movie on DVD when it’s released, I suggest you rent the video game if you want to be truly entertained.
