I just saw Sex and the City a few hours ago and I am very happy to report it was just as good as I was hoping it would be. I have a feeling the numbers on this film are going to be HUGE. I went with my sisters, niece and sister-in-law and realized every woman in Houston was there. The early preview midnight showing was sold out in minutes a full 17 hours before the movie started so the theater had to open 2 additional screens at midnight to accommodate so many viewers.
I do not recommend you take your boyfriend to this this. This movie is strictly for the girls and their gay male friends, period. PLEASE DO NOT READ ANY FURTHER IF YOU HAVEN’T YET SEEN THE MOVIE. MOVIE SPOILER BELOW THIS TEXT!!!
The movie was stocked full of expensive clothes, sexy cars, incredibly over priced NYC apartments, hot guys, and yes, frontal male nudity of a very hot guy. This movie is what Ocean’s 11 wished it were. The plot was great, there were virtually no lulls of pointless scenes and dialogue, countless catch phrases and one liners that I am sure wannabe twenty-somethings will be repeating for the next few months. Samantha is caught in some kind of reverse midlife crisis and ends up dumping her loyal, super hot model/actor stud boyfriend Smith near the end of the movie. I loved how she realized that even though she loved him, and felt loyalty to Smith for being there for her when she was bald and going through chemotherapy, being a woman who was free to be with whomever she wants as much as she wants it’s her true nature. A leopard never changes it’s spots and Samantha stayed true to form.
Big and Carrie were moving along perfectly and even agreed to marry. You could sense that these two were older, wiser, and more comfortable with with each other and as a viewer, it was impossible not to feel happy for them both, and emotional involved. So when Big pulled a no show on the actual day of the wedding, you can only imagine the drama the pursued. If your dying to know the rest, you’ll have to see the movie. It’s still quite fresh and new and I really want you to go out and spend a little money on it. It’s a great movie for a girls nite out and it reminds me of the amazing memories of my life in New York.
This movie is a feast for the eyes and makes you want to be in love, so go get off your butt and support our girls! You will be very surprised by how much you may actually enjoy this.
